What We're About

The Centralia Downtown Festivals Association was founded to build our community and bring fun to Historic Downtown Centralia.

Historic Downtown Centralia, also known as the Heart of the City of Centralia, has been the apex of community life since it was platted in 1885.  Today, the wonderful diversity of businesses found here offer local residents and visitors a variety of dining, shopping, entertainment and recreational events and experiences.    In 2003, the Centralia Downtown Historic District was placed on the National Register of Historic Places and has enjoyed all of the rights and privileges that come from that special designation.  In addition, The National Register of Historic Sites recognizes four specific locations in the Historic Downtown: 1. Centralia Union Train Station, 2. Olympic Club and Saloon,  3. Washington Part (The Sentinel), 4. United States Post Office.  Nurtured by an ongoing revitalization and restoration program designed to maintain the City’s welcoming charm and historic beauty, Centralia’s Historic Downtown attracts thousands of visitors each year to its many cultural events and festivals.

Have you Visited our Pocket Park?

This historical alley-sized park was established in 1970 and is in its third year of restoration. A delightful treasure, it features a landscaped walkway and a set of benches to rest on or enjoy local take-out. Shaded by four mature Japanese maples and dressed with ivy, it’s a popular place for photo sessions and gatherings.  Drop by Centralia’s “Central Park” the next time you find yourself in our historic downtown.
